Recent Run of Results..

Chelsea 4 Liverpool 4
Reina 0g 51 Alex Lampard 76, 89 - Aurelio 19 Alonso pen 28 Lucas 81 Kuyt 83

An incredible match of football, which has so many dramatic turns in 90 minutes. Liverpool needed 3 goals to get through and we had 2 in the first half. It was about to be mission impossible accomplished till Reina's mistake catalyzed the whole dramatic show.

Sadly, Liverpool was knocked out on aggregate 7-5. However, I do think that Liverpool did the best they could in the game and sometimes, football needs luck, in fact lots of them. They can leave with their heads high with their high determination, hard work and of course, they didn't leave without giving it a fight.

Well done lads!

Liverpool 4 Blackburn 0
Torres 5, 33 Agger 83, Ngog 90

Liverpool bounced back from the Champions League defeat and thrashed Blackburn 4-0 at home. Dominated the game while Torres scored a beauty on the 5th minute. One of the candidates of best goals of the season. Massive 3 points in the run towards the last few games of the season.

Liverpool 1 Chelsea 3
Torres 6 - Ivanovic 39, 62 Drogba 67

Liverpool was outclassed by the Blues in this game. Failed to defend from set pieces was suicidal, not once but twice by defender Ivanovic. Chelsea manager Hiddink had a game plan against the home side and it worked for them perfectly. Liverpool had to score 3 goals in the second leg at the Bridge to go through.

Fulham 0 Liverpool 1
Benayoun 92

Dramatic stoppage time winner by Yossi Benayoun send the Reds crazy as Liverpool hit the woodwork 4 times in that match. It was so crucial to our run towards the championship till Rafa had some celebrations actions after the game.

Double Over Chelsea!

Liverpool 2 Chelsea 0
Torres 88, 94

The last time Liverpool did a double over Chelsea - the year 1990, the year which Liverpool last won the title. It's been more than a decade ago. It could have been a different story if not because of this man, Fernando Torres. The record signing of this football club has proven why he's worth that much of money and how valuable he is to Anfield.

The ideal line-up against Chelsea and this somehow gave me and also the fans a boost seeing the first 11. This line-up is normally the same as mine when I play my Football Manager. The partnership of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard upfront just menacing to any opposition.

3 points is what it matters and I do think we deserved the win. Dominated the game, kept pressing and the players fought bravely against the highly skilled Blues. Oh yes, many can argue about the sending off of Frank Lampard. Did not deserve to be sent off but sometimes, such things do happen. Whether it is for you or against you, people either move on or just continue to moan about it. I remembered some decisions going against us but we just have to stick to it and continue the way it is.

Fernando Torres' header in the 88th minute was so vital as the game was heading to a draw. You could see from the celebrations of the players, how much this win meant to them and the remaining games of the season. Massive victory for Liverpool as this ended the disappointing draws last month and a great boost to the players.

Let's keep it going and maintain the pace with the leaders Manchester United. The race is still on and we gotta fight till the end!

In other news..

It seems to me that Robbie Keane is heading back to Tottenham Hotspur after just less than 6 months in Liverpool. After so much speculation and stories, I guess everything is revealed. It is believed that Keane is not a player bought by Rafa and that probably explains why he left Robbie Keane out.

Nevertheless, we wish him all the best back in Spurs!

86 Matches Unbeaten Record Broken!

Chelsea 0 Liverpool 1
Alonso 10
AR Man of the Match: Carragher

Fantastic result! 1-0 at Stamford Bridge while its formidable 86 matches unbeaten record was finally broken! By Rafa Benitez's men and it's his first league victory over the Blues away from home. It's been sometime since we've tasted victory over Chelsea, definitely, it felt really good. You could see it from the players' expressions after the final whistle was blown, how much this victory meant to them and the fans.

I have to admit, Chelsea do have world class individual players. Their attacks were fast and there's no time for the Liverpool defence to think twice or whatsoever as any slight hesitation, Lampard & Co will punish you. Scolari's has developed Chelsea into a attacking side, similiar to Brazil style of play.

Fortunately, Rafa's defensive and counter-attacking plan at Stamford Bridge worked brilliantly. Chelsea's flow of attacks were denied every now and then, with Jamie Carragher being the heart of defence, fighting his life out. Closing down on every occasion, Lampard and Deco was kept quiet by Mascherano. With Gerrard playing just behind Robbie Keane, Liverpool's counter-attacking was effective and gave John Terry's defence scares throughout the match.

Alonso was probably playing one of his best matches in his career, controlling the midfield and not to forget, he got the solitary and winning goal of the game. Tackling for every single ball in the midfield, not allowing the home side to play their fast football. On the other hand, we had our own passing rhythm. It's been so long I can see Liverpool playing one-touch passing so quickly and accurately. Kuyt, Keane, Gerrard, Riera, the 4-man attacking shape which Rafa has devised, were brilliant in their positions.

It's hard to find a Man of the Match, it seems like everyone deserved it as every player kept to his task and gave their all in this outstanding performance. 86 matches unbeaten home record is finally broken and it's by Liverpool.

It's time to calm down and concentrate on the next game in midweek. 3 points is what it matters where there's no room for mistakes or points dropped. The season is long marathon and we are just in the beginning. We need to work really hard in every game, taking maximum points. One game at a time.

It's Chelsea Into the Final

Chelsea 3 Liverpool 2
Drogba 32, 105, Lampard 94 - Torres 64, 116

The last competitive and important match of Liverpool's season has ended last night. They have lost to Chelsea on an aggregate of 4-3 at Stamford Bridge. 2 goals from Didier Drogba and a penalty scored by Frank Lampard. Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel scored past Cech's goal.

No complaints. We lost over 2 legs of football. Many would have argued, if we have 1-0 lead from Anfield, (not because of Riise's blunder), things would be different. Somehow, I felt Chelsea deserved to go through despite my blood bleeds Liverpool.

We had the chances to turnover the tie. We created opportunities, and we did play well. Unfortunately, we didn't score more and Avam Grant's men got the result. Torres scored a beautiful equaliser. Everyone thought we could build on the lead and even in extra time. Sadly, we didn't.

Many minor factors has cost us. The injuries to Fabio Aurelio and Martin Skrtel proved to be very crucial in both matches. As Rafa mentioned, against big teams in such a major tournament, we have to be careful and small details like this would determine the result.

Still, it was a memorable journey. Beating the likes of Inter Milan, Arsenal along the way were something we can always reflect on. Goals from Torres, Babel and Kuyt were all be in the history of Liverpool. The experience in the team is massive despite the the young squad. We gave Chelsea a hard fight and somehow, I feel that it's fate which led Chelsea into the final.

We shall look forward to the next season. Champions League Semi-finalist, 4th position in the league. That's something Liverpool can improve on. As long as Rafa is around, I do believe, we can progress and hopefully, getting results.

It's okay lads, we have to move on and play better football next season.

Liverpool ROBBED By Rob Styles

Liverpool 1 Chelsea 1
Torres, 16 min - Lampard, 62min (pen)

A game which Liverpool dominated, a game which Liverpool wanted to win, a game which clearly shown who deserved to win. Sadly, the game were robbed by referee Rob Styles. Poor decision making, showed cards without thinking and this cost us 2 points.

Liverpool started well in front of Anfield, the first home game of the season against the giants, Chelsea. What can you ask for more? Good passing, switching flanks and we managed to get a goal early in the 16th minute.

New record signing, Fernando Torres showed the fans why we bought him for. Pace, strength and clinical finishing were what he did. Got the ball from Captain Stevie, sudden burst pace outrun Chelsea defender, Ben Haim and shot past Petr Cech. That's what we have been lacking of for so many years ever since Michael Owen left us.

Chelsea was left shocked and they were clueless of what to do. They made a change which brought in Pizzaro playing upfront with Drogba. They created some great chances but failed to convert them. Liverpool defence was able to hang on.

Sadly, or I should say controversially, Rob Styles generously awarded a penalty to Chelsea which nobody else thought it is. Neither did Chelsea players argued, nor Jose Mourinho off his bench moaning. Malouda just jumped at Steve Finnan and fell. What the f***? It's a penalty? I'm sure many Liverpool fans would be thinking of that.

The team worked really hard. Pressed Chelsea in every area and I believe Chelsea was not able to handle us. We did everything well except the fact that we didn't score the second goal. However, it seems that Chelsea was not able to score against us until the dubious decision went against us.

I guess it's part of football and we have to accept it. Poor decisions are always there and sadly for this case, it happened against us and we have to pay for it. Many positives from the match can be seen. We played well and were a better team than Chelsea for the 90 minutes. I believe as long as we continue playing good and better football, we will definitely be there, no doubts.

For Rob Styles, I've nothing much to say about him. He might be the man who costs us this 2 points which may be crucial at the end of the season, we shall see. I believe he needs to attend some pressure management course on how to handle pressure. If not, don't be a referee.

With hope in your heart, Come on Liverpool!
