Due to National Service here in Singapore, I have limited time to post match reports on this little site of mine. My sincere apologies, I will update as much as I can during my leave and break days.



I managed to watch the exciting affair at Upton Park last weekend with Liverpool beating Zola's men 3-2. Finally, able to catch a match of my beloved Liverpool in their new away white strip, fought their hard-earned 3 points.



Fernando Torres' brilliance on the pitch gave us the valuable win. 2 great goals by the Spanish plus a Kuyt's toe-poke overcame West Ham coming back twice in the game. Defensive errors from both centre backs was frustrating to watch which I do think Rafa needs to sort it out. The reliable Carragher and Skrtel seemed to be out of sorts handling English striker Cole.

Fortunately, the attackers did not disappoint and it's nice to see Ryan Babel coming on as impact substitute, sending a beautiful cross to Torres which was the winner of the game.

With already 2 losses in the league while the rest are writing us off, we have to stay focus and keep it going. Taking one game at a time, 3 points is what it matters end of the day. Come on Liverpool!

A match without much significance as the title has been already won by Manchester United. Still, it's the last home game for the Reds and Anfield did not disappoint once again, appeared in full voices. A memorable match for Sami Hyypia who is leaving to Germany after 10 years of service in Liverpool Football Club. Robbie Keane returned to Anfield and got a goal himself too. Details of Sami Hyypia will be posted up next.

A match which Liverpool already knew that they are no longer in the title race. Nevertheless, the Reds put up a good game of football securing 2 goals win over WBA. Sadly for the home side, they are relegated after this defeat. Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuyt both increased their season's tally.

Although Torres was ruled out the game injured, the rest of the Liverpool team didn't falter and continued to keep the pressure on leaders Manchester United. Steven Gerrard was welcomed back into the side where Newcastle had no chance against the home side.

It's nice to see Lucas scoring his first Premiership goal for Liverpool. A nice header from a Aurelio's cross from the right. Kuyt was terrorizing Alan Shearer's defence with his tireless runs. His cross to Yossi Benayoun and a diving header for himself. Well done Dirk!

Liverpool bounced back from the disappointing draw against Arsenal to beat relegation battling Hull City away from home. Alonso stunning volley gave Liverpool a lead just before half time while a Kuyt double killed off any hopes of a Hull comeback.

A crucial 2 points dropped against Arsene Wenger's game. A crazy game of 4-4 once again which somehow made it more difficult for Liverpool to chase leaders Manchester United. Individual mistakes from the back punished the home side badly whereby Arsenal's new signing Arshavin scoring 4 goals. Whether this game prove to be an important draw or it was the game which Liverpool lost 2 massive points, we shall see where we stands at the end of the season.

An incredible match of football, which has so many dramatic turns in 90 minutes. Liverpool needed 3 goals to get through and we had 2 in the first half. It was about to be mission impossible accomplished till Reina's mistake catalyzed the whole dramatic show.

Sadly, Liverpool was knocked out on aggregate 7-5. However, I do think that Liverpool did the best they could in the game and sometimes, football needs luck, in fact lots of them. They can leave with their heads high with their high determination, hard work and of course, they didn't leave without giving it a fight.

Liverpool bounced back from the Champions League defeat and thrashed Blackburn 4-0 at home. Dominated the game while Torres scored a beauty on the 5th minute. One of the candidates of best goals of the season. Massive 3 points in the run towards the last few games of the season.

Liverpool was outclassed by the Blues in this game. Failed to defend from set pieces was suicidal, not once but twice by defender Ivanovic. Chelsea manager Hiddink had a game plan against the home side and it worked for them perfectly. Liverpool had to score 3 goals in the second leg at the Bridge to go through.

Dramatic stoppage time winner by Yossi Benayoun send the Reds crazy as Liverpool hit the woodwork 4 times in that match. It was so crucial to our run towards the championship till Rafa had some celebrations actions after the game.

First Half Advantage

A much anticipated match between 2 big European Champions giants, Liverpool and Real Madrid. 9 times vs 5 times winner, what else beats that? With Real Madrid with 9 matches unbeaten run in the league, Liverpool is facing one of the best form team in the Champions League.

Liverpool has just suffered a blow in their league with 7 points behind leaders Manchester United, hoping that they can regain some morale back at the brilliant stadium, Bernabeau . I'm impressed by this fantastic infrastructure when I was watching the game last night.

With Steven Gerrard not fully fit, it's important for the rest of the team to step up and put up a performance and fortunately, the rest did not disappoint. Kuyt supporting Torres upfront, Alonso back in midfield with Mascherano.

It's very critical for these players to rise up to the occassion, against the likes of Robben, Raul, Gago and company. A very resilient and strong defence put up by Rafa, closing and pressing on every ball on the pitch, not allowing Real Madrid to play their football.



Xabi Alonso, had a brilliant match. Man of the match in my opinion. Controlled midfield, dictate play, protected the back four. Great vision in passing and it's hard to imagine that if we have sold him in the summer. He had an effort himself from the middle of park, which almost gave Iker Casilas a scare.



The winner came in the 82th minute of the game. A beautiful Fabio Aurelio's freekick from the right met one of the smallest players on the pitch, Yossi Benayoun, who headed into the goal. I flew off my chair while you see the Liverpool players celebrating at the corner flag. Sucker punch, Liverpool got the precious away goal.

Real Madrid was shocked, clueless on how to penetrate the big red wall of Liverpool has built. Other than Robben, I don't anyone else who is able to do it. Credits to the Liverpool players, they sat deep and defended superbly.

A fantastic win and I'm sure it is a good morale booster for them for the remaining of the season. Having said that, it's only half time. We have an away goal advantage but we cannot take anything for granted. Let's take every game at a time and we will see how the season shapes for us.

A Craig Bellamy's goal spoilt Liverpool hopes of chasing Manchester United in the Premier League. Every match is a must win and looking at Ferguson's men form, it's hard for them to drop a single point. With Rafa's future in doubt, I really wonder what's holding for Liverpool Football Club in the subsequent months and the future.

We have been coming from behind and made like 7 comebacks this season. Dirk Kuyt equaliser somehow gave the fans some hope we might snatch a late winner, but somehow, we can't always depend on comebacks to win.

We have to be consistent in producing results, week in week out. We have to be more penetrating in our attacks, converting chances. No matter what happen in the future, let the feet do the talking and after which, any sort of full control, contract terms can come later. I really hope that we don't have to start all over again.

7 points is a big gap. But in football, things may change and you will never know until the end. "With hope in your heart.. " as the Liverpool fans have always sing.

Torres Completes Comeback!

Once again, Rafa Benitez has proved that he can be one of the boldest manager in the league, seeing his line-up against Portsmouth last night. With 6 defenders in the line-up, putting young French Ngog as the lone striker upfront, I really was wondering how on earth can he win the game with this first 11.

Surprisingly, we started pretty well with passing and plenty share of possession. However, Ryan Babel and David Ngog doesn't seemed to be able to penetrate into the Tony Adams' defence and hence, we failed to score in the opening 45 minutes.

Rafa was spot on in his substitutions, bringing in Dirk Kuyt for the ineffective Ngog. You could see his inexperience in the game. Kuyt was fresh and the spark of our comeback in the game.



Fabio Aurelio's indirect freekick was very well-executed which got us the equalising goal. A left footed drive after David James handled the ball from a Peter Crouch back pass causing the indirect freekick. We made a mistake and conceded the lead to the home side.

Alonso came in, so was Torres. These players came in and made an impact in the game. Portsmouth was tiring while the likes of Benayoun, Kuyt, Mascherano were all fighting for every ball on the pitch. Kuyt scored late on with an almost impossible shot passed David James. I simply do not know how he managed to squeeze the ball in.



In the 90th minute, who else? Fernando Torres headed in the winner which gave us the massive 3 points. With time ticking off, good play by Benayoun and Mascherano on the left, Torres finished it off with his 1st chance at goal. A comeback again!

Credit to the team, they kept believing and fought throughout. They shown character and you could see that every game is so important for this long title race. I do not care how Rafa changes, or who he plays, as long as we have the 3 points, the rest we can talk later.

Oh well, when there's a photo of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres celebrating together, I just couldn't help uploading. Oh yes, back to main topic. Away at the Reebok stadium, a 2-0 win is always good enough. 2 headers from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard gave the away side 3 points.

With Arbeloa suspended with 5 yellows cards, Carragher was switched to right back while Sami Hyypia was in the centre of defence with Daniel Agger. The centre back pairing had a horrendous performance in midweek's League Cup clash. Fortunately, for this game, they managed to keep a clean sheet.



As expected, Liverpool dominating the game with master midfielder Alonso spraying passes around. In 28th minute, once again, Flying Dutchman Dirk Kuyt scoring a brilliant header from Aurelio cross. A curling cross from the Brazilian left-back was well-executed by Kuyt's stunning head. He's been red hot form for Rafa and keeping the right midfield slot exclusively.

Chances came flooding with Robbie Keane missing the first. Somehow, it worried a little due to the fact that we couldn't score the second goal to kill off the game. Bolton came out attacking in the second half and gave Pepe Reina a few scares. Liverpool fans were reminded of the same situation not long ago against Spurs, in which we had a lead and we couldn't find the second goal. We lost the game in the end.



Torres came in and his pace upfront was threatening to Bolton's defenders. Without any doubt and luckily for us, his cross was headed in by Captain Steven Gerrard, scoring the second goal we desperately needed. We just love to see both of them celebrating isn't it? :)

With 2 goals cushion, it killed Bolton of any hopes in the game. We had many chances from Torres and Lucas to get the third, but luckily, at that time, we could afford to miss chances. 3 points in the bag.

A double from Robbie Keane and rare goal from Arbeloa gave Liverpool a comfortable win at Anfield. I did not managed to get to watch the match myself but watching the highlights showed that the home side controlled the match and it's a good to win after suffering its first defeat against Spurs last weekend.

Liverpool had a late lucky penalty against the Spanish side. Steven Gerrard got the penalty practically on the last minute of the game while Atletico Madrid was denied a victory at Anfield. Liverpool didn't play that well, but nevertheless, it's an important point and Stevie is the one who scored the deciding penalty, once again.

The first defeat in the league which I felt pretty unjust and left wondering on how earth we manage to lose after dominating. Dirk Kuyt's early strike was brilliant. For long periods of the game, we threatened the goal and hit the post twice. I guess we need some luck for that. We lost control of the game and somehow, Carragher's own goal changed the complex of the game. These things happen in football, Harry Redknapp's men got the late winner right at the end unfortunately.

Kuyt Led The Comeback Kings Once Again!

Are we really the Comeback Kings? It's hard to believe at times but the recent matches truly showed that. The last match at the City of Manchester was tough for the heart to take, but once again, against Steve Bruce's Wigan, my heart was pounding at a faster rate than ever. It seems like it has become a habit for Liverpool to concede goal and make a comeback. Definitely, like what Rafa said, he prefer to be calmer on the bench.

A Daniel Agger's schoolboy mistake caused the home side to be behind. This mistake just showed us why Rafa refused to change the centre partnership of Martin Skrtel and Jamie Carragher till Skrtel got injured. Well, Agger did make up for it. His devastating run into the Wigan's defence, providing an assist to Dutchman Dirk Kuyt to finish it.

Amri Zaki scored a brilliant bicycle kick just before the half time, much to the fans' dismay, we were trailing at second half again. At half time, I was thinking, another comeback in the bag? This time around, we didnt' score that early in the second half. Wigan defended really well, and we went close on several occassions.

A bold move by Rafa, subsituting both full backs with wingers after Wigan's Valenica's sent off. He knew he had no other choices but to attack to the maximum. Sub El Zhar's cross plus a super dummy by Steven Gerrard gave the space to Albert Riera to score this first ever goal for his new club at the Kop-End!



With 10 more minutes to go, we knew we have to go for it. Attacking from all areas, Xabi Alonso was playing as though it was a cup final. Jermaine Pennant, who was a surprised inclusion, crossed a beauty which met Dirk Kuyt's scissors' kick into Chris Kirkland's net!



Brilliant! We've completed another comeback once again! I quickly messaged Drogballs who unfortunately was not able to watch the game, that we had scored 2 goals in the last 10 minutes. I could sense his excitement in his replies!

It's always good to come back from behind and get the 3 points. However, should we have defended better, life would be much easier for us. Of course, it's also better for the hearts of our fans. It's important for us to keep up the pace and not lag behind. With the rest of teams winning, we have to make sure we are up there.

What else can I say? This is fucking fantastic! Coming back from 2-0 down at the City of Manchester and winning 3-2 at the end is SIMPLY BRILLIANT! What a game of football for both fans and also neutrals watching it.

It's away from home against the likes of Robinho, Jo, Elano and Shaun Wright-Philips. These players created riots in Liverpool defence in the first 45 minutes and Rafa's men just couldn't control the midfield which I thought was the reason why we've conceded. Mistakes were being made and unfortunately, we found ourselves 2-0 down at half time. I was rather disappointed at how we conceded the goals, pretty soft and we didn't play that badly in the first half.

At half time, I was thinking of how we gonna recover and how Rafa would change things around. As usual, Rafa sticks to his first 11, not making any changes in the second half. This time round, the midfield was in control of the ball, pressing and pressuring right from the start, not allowing Mark Hughes' men to play.

We needed to score fast so as to have a chance of coming back. A through ball by Gerrard to the overlapping Arbeloa whose cross was turned in by who else? Fernando Torres! Game on! The match was very much alive then.



I was pissed by ManCity's defenders. They were pretty rough and their tackles were simply unacceptable. The referee has to protect the players when defenders like Richard Dunne just whacking Torres down every time he touches the ball. Still, I was pleased to see Torres' determination to fight on despite all these dirty challenges.

Zabaleta was given a straight red card after a terrible tackle on Xabi Alonso. A 2-leg tackle with studs up. Definite sent-off. (Poor Xabi, 2 reckless red cards tackles on him for the past 2 matches) Given the extra man advantage, we continued to attack while Mark Hughes began substituting his star players out.

Liverpool's set pieces has been one of the weaker factor in the team over the years and recently, Rafa seemed to have get it right on it. A typical Steven Gerrard's corner was met by Torres once again and we were back in the game at 2-2. What a good double by the Liverpool number 9! In your face, RICHARD DUNNE!

Martin Skrtel fell awkwardly right at the end and everyone knew it was a bad fall. He somehow twisted his knee, remained on the ground after that. It's very sad to see a player falling, hurting himself in such a painful way. He's hell of a player, I'm sure we will miss his presence in defence. Get Well Soon, Martin!

With 6 minutes of injury time, you could see the hunger on the players. Determination to complete the comeback and get the 3 points. Supersub Benayoun crossed for Torres whose shot was blocked by defender Dunne, luckily, Kuyt was there to finished the loose ball! GOALLLLLL! I swear I shouted one of the loudest and ran around my house!



YESSS! 3-2! Totally breathtaking! Dirk Kuyt flew into into the Liverpool fans and the whole Red army ran in celebration! GET IN!

It was one of the best feelings ever this season and this 3 points was well earned. It's very important to keep up the pace, making sure we don't lose points. Second half performance was class and this is the message to the rest, the Red Half of Merseyside would be fighting all the way.

A Good Night To Remember

A memorable night for the Anfield faithfuls to remember, which sees Steven Gerrard getting his 100th Liverpool career goal as well as Robbie Keane's first goal for his childhood dream team. A disciplined match against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, a regular Champions League opponent over the last few years.

Another typical Anfield European night, gave the team confidence and many positives from this game. Despite playing 5 defenders across the back, PSV failed to contain the home attacks and somehow, Liverpool was expected to score and get the 3 points.

Goals from Kuyt, Keane and Captain Gerrard made it 2 wins out of 2 so far in the opening group stages of the Champions League. Kuyt's goal scoring record in the Champions League seems to be improving each time he plays and he has instilled himself a place in Rafa's first 11. His work rate is definitely one of the best, if not the best around and I do wonder how many lungs he has.

Many positives from this game.

1. Keane got his first goal for Liverpool with a Torres assist. Keane assisted Torres at the Merseyside derby and this shows that this partnership is beginning to work.

2. Captain Steven Gerrard has finally scored his 100th goal for Liverpool Football Club. The 16th player to be able to do that. I could see that his form is picking up and once he gets into form, opponents have to be beware.

3. Liverpool is playing well at the moment, showing the sense of urgency in games which I strongly believed was lacked last season. Consistency is the key and I'm sure Rafa & Co has the experience to at least, challenge this year.

4. Rafa has cut down on his tinkering. Keeping to his key players practically every game and he himself also agreed that it's hard to change the team when the 11 players are putting in good performances. Players like Ryan Babel and Daniel Agger just simply couldn't break into the first team.

Still, we must not be overconfident and concentrate on every single game. We have not win anything yet, it's important to be calm and continue to win games. Somehow, being a Liverpool fan, I'm afraid to have high hopes at times. Every season, somehow high hopes will turn out to be bigger disappointment. Hopefully, this season won't be. Well, I'll still shout "GOAL" at my top of my voice when the team scores!

Remember this day and the picture above. This day is finallyyy here. Rafa Benitez's first LEAGUE WIN over rivals Manchester United. Goals from Brown(og) and supersub Ryan Babel sealed the fantastic win over Ferguson's men.

Where should I start? 4 years since Rafa has taken over, he haven't tasted victory before, be it home or away. 4 fucking years, for goodness sake. This 3 points has never been sweeter than before. Danny Murphy has already left Anfield for so many clubs and the Red Half of Merseyside has been swallowing all the defeats with so much pain in their throats over the last years.

Carlos Tevez's early beautiful goal was a shocker for me. It happened so fast and it just flew into the net before my ass gets warm at my seat. At the 4th minute of the game, I was thinking, "Oh my fucking god, it's going to be the same old story again." Somehow or rather, that thinking disappeared once the home side got control of the game and I could see that the Mancs couldn't handle the Kop pressure and attacks.

Credits to all the players, they didn't give in nor give up. Sheer determination and hunger for the win were the key determinants of the game. You could see it from the players' faces. Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard, the 2 most important players of Rafa's team, were sitting anxiously on the bench, couldn't wait to come on.

Brown's own goal was lucky, I have to admit. Still, we earned the luck. Pressing hard against Rio Ferdinand's defence, new signing Albert Riera had a awesome home debut, Mascherano and Alonso controlling the midfield while Kuyt and Keane worked their socks off up front. Of course, the rest of the team were heroes on this day too.

Ryan Babel got the winning goal. Mascherano and Kuyt were the creators of it. Second half performance was efficient and tactically strong which led the away side resorting to pumping high balls. Anfield erupted so was my home. You could see and feel how important was this victory to us.

Many would have argued, both goals are lucky. Well, everyone could see that the Reds dominated the match, at least the second half. We worked hard for it, we fought for it and I'm very sure every Liverpool fan was very proud on that day.



It's still early days. The season has 38 matches and we need to be consistent throughout the year. Still, beating your arch rivals is a good morale and confidence booster and let's enjoy this sweet sweet win!

The first leg of the Champions League qualifier was a huge scare for Liverpool fans as they almost lost to the Belgium Champions 2 weeks ago. Without Pepe Reina's heroics at the goal, it would be difficult for Rafa's men.

A 0-0 scoreline means that Liverpool has to win no matter what to qualify into Champions League and for the past few games, the Reds were playing badly but yet winning. Rafa sticks to its first 11 with just a change of Andrea Dossena to Fabio Aurelio at left back.

Standard Liege threatened the goal early on and Pepe Reina was called for duty once again, with some terrific saves. If the visitors had scored, Liverpool got to score 2 goals to win the tie. The understanding of Torres and Keane is improving and they are troubling defences with their runs and flicks ons. The lacking thing is only an assist to a goal.

As the game went on, the Liverpool fans were getting worried. Till the 80th minute, it was still goalless. A away goal conceded would means a shock exit of the Champions League, which Liverpool is belonged to. The game went on to extra time as the away side was defending deep and stood strong against the Liverpool attacks.

Tired legs were out there as time is more than 90 minutes. With 4 more minutes to go, substitute Ryan Babel, scored a deep ball from the left and was converted into the goal by fellow countryman Dirk Kuyt! It's the best time to score as the match was about to go into penalties. Kuyt celebrated in front of the Anfield faithfuls and everyone wearing a red shirt wasrelieved.

A solitary goal is sufficient. We are into the Champions League. Once again, performance was below-par. We are not creating much chances and set pieces are just crossing to defender's head. A struggled win and this time, Dirk Kuyt provided that.

07/08 Season Review - Strikers

The strikers are the ones putting the goals into the net most of the time. Liverpool have been criticised over the past seasons for not be able to score goals in games and is not clinical enough. Rafa was aware of this problems and bought several players in during the summer.

Let's see how the strikers fared for the season..

The Ukrainian striker was bought in the summer, a free transfer from German club Bayern Leverkusen. He started the campaign pretty okay, scoring some goals as well. However, his form dipped during the season and eventually, not becoming first choice for the team. After Steven and Fernando formed the fantastic partnership upfront, it's hard for him to come into the team which such a lousy form. He got injured and was out for some time. Nevertheless, I don't think the team missed him. I don't really like his style of play and I won't be surprised seeing him leaving in the summer. Sadly so, I do feel that he's the worst no.10 ever in a Liverpool shirt. That's how much I rate this fellow.

Peter Crouch
The English striker has been second to number 1 striker Fernando Torres and has declared that he's unhappy in Anfield. He's not playing first team football reguarly and has questioned Rafa's policies as well. Still, he did make several matches in which he scored and his goal scoring rate is not that bad at all. He loved scoring against Arsenal and gave so many problems to the big and strong defenders of Arsene Wenger's men. His future in Liverpool is a major doubt. It is believed that his price tag of 15 million is known to the clubs which are interested in him. He might be leaving very soon I guess. His performance is decent ones and I do like him too. However, he may be too predictable at times and can be overpowered in games. We shall wait and see how it goes. Have a good holiday Crouch!

Dirk Kuyt

The second season of Kuyt has been ups and downs for him. He was horrible in the beginning, facing so much criticism for his poor touch and lousy performance. I was so frustrated with him that I cursed and sweared at the television whenever he played. Somehow, I read from the news he had some personal problems during that time and he had a difficult time on the pitch. Credits to the Dutchman, he improved tremedously as the season progressed. Rafa played him on the right wing and he did very well despite playing out of position. He made the position his and did it his way. He was very hardworking in every game and his work rate is world class. Stamina is not a problem with this felllow. He scored many crucial goals along the way especially in the Champions League. Goals against Inter Milan, Arsenal and Chelsea are unforgettable.

He has worked hard and done very well for us. I do hope that he can play in the Euros for his country. Keep the form going and score more goals for us next season, Dirk!

Fernando Torres
Oh boy, what can I say about our new record signing in the summer? 26 million pounds well spent? I can say that we have not been having someone like this upfront for several seasons. Even Michael Owen couldn't match him, in my opinion though. 31 goals in his debut season is an unbelievable achievement. Once he scored his Anfield goal against Chelsea, there's no turning back since. He just couldn't stop scoring and he has broken many records just in his first season over here.

He scored some awesome goals and has proven to be one of the threats in the league. His partnership with Steven Gerrard has terrorised so many defences. El Nino is in top form the whole season and just simply loves scoring at Anfield. I love his song. The fans just kept singing and singing his song. Probably that added some motivation into his game. Oh well, I just hope he would continue to build on his brilliant season and he will be up there seasons after seasons.

The season review has come to an end and it's been a season full of ups and downs. Somehow, it's more of disappointment this year but we did make some good progress. Let's cross our fingers and pray hard that Rafa would be able to do the impossible and built on this seasons' positives!

Kuyt's goal was superb as Anfield erupted. His work rate and persistence is world class and that's how he got his goal.

We have to SCORE at the bridge. That's for sure.

A Much Needed Win Over Inter

Oh my, it's like finally! I haven't been writing on a match report like for so many matches. Their run and form were so poor that many times, I was clueless of what to write. A shocking exit last weekend against Barnsley was still on the back of many fans' mind and here comes Inter Milan, the current team leading the Serie A.

An European night is special, as always. The feelings, atmosphere and of course, the 12th man has always been there making the difference yet again. Inter Milan was the favourites, no doubt about it. By just looking at the current form says it all.

However, Liverpool produced one of the best performances of the season. Against the mighty Italians, they didn't show any kind of fear and they were magnificent throughout the 90 minutes.



Marco Materazzi was sent off early in the game. Torres gave him a teaching lesson though many would have thought he was too harshly done by. 2 fouls on Fernando within 30 minutes. Sorry Marco, you gotta go.

Inter Milan was a difficult side to beat and they defended really well. We had many chances, but just couldn't find the net. Everyone wearing red was working really hard, passed the ball around and their inter-play was superb.

I do wonder why they can play this way in the Champions League but not in the league? What's actually the problem? Why is the difference so much? I really have no idea. I only know that Inter didn't much sniff on the Liverpool goal.

It took 85 minutes for the home side to break the deadlock. Supersub Pennant cross a beautiful diagonal ball into the box, which landed on Dirk Kuyt. Yes, the striker whom I always curse and swear, the one who have always frustrated the Liverpool fans, shot into the goal with a deflection off the defender.



I don't care, the fans don't care, it's a GOAL! Kuyt scored! Anfield burst. I shouted at my television! This is the moment we haven't experience for quite some time and it really felt good.



I wanted a second goal. I knew we had some time left. A 2 goal cushion is always the best scoreline to bring to San Siro's. Once again, Captain Stevie didn't disappoint us! Got the ball outside from the Pennant once again, switched onto his deadly right foot and the next moment, the ball was off the post into the net. It took like 4 bounces into the goal!

Let's take a look at how Gerrard celebrated his goal!

It really felt darn good! To be winning against Inter Milan by 2 goals. Although it's only 1st leg, and I know the tie is not over, nevertheless, I got to enjoy this. There isn't much chances for me to do so. Haha!

It's a great victory and I do hope.. we can move on from here, playing better football achieving better results.

Reds Held At The City Of Manchester

The last game of the year 2007. It was at the City of Manchester. Unbeaten record in their home ground, 9 wins, 1 draw. Sven Goran Eriksson has turned Manchester City into a fortress and a team which is producing results week in week out.

As for Liverpool, we can't afford to drop points. As usual, we are doing the chasing game. Both Manchester United and Arsenal are producing results and opening the gap from the rest.

The game was a tight one as there were not any clear cut chances in the game especially in the first half. Ex- Liverpool player, Dietmar Hamann was superb in the game. I was so glad that he was doing well at Manchester City. He is still one of my favourite players. I'll support him unless he's against Liverpool like last night.

Liverpool dominated the game especially in the second half. They were controlling the pace and possession of the match. Mascherano was superb in the middle. Breaking down every ManCity's attack.



Torres had several chances and almost gave Liverpool the lead. We had the majority of the chances and I believe Reina didn't have much to do in the game except for some kickings. The players were working very hard, trying to get the break through.

Credit to the home side, their defence stood strong. With Hamann protecting the back four, Liverpool just couldn't put the ball into the net. Richard Dunne & Michael Richards, the centre backs for Erikson's side was superb especially Captain Dunne who led by example with a great display of defending.



Liverpool's best chance of the game was cleared off the line by Dunne as well. He kept Torres quiet and the Spanish striker didn't have much space and time on the ball. Although many would be disappointed with a point for the Reds, I believe there are much positives from the match to be taken note of.

Fabio Aurelio and Javier Mascherano were superb the whole game. Alongside with others who worked really hard, it's a pity that we didn't get maximum points. We have to look forward, even the fact that the gap is getting bigger. It's a New Year and we probably need some new signings to improve the squad.
