Due to National Service here in Singapore, I have limited time to post match reports on this little site of mine. My sincere apologies, I will update as much as I can during my leave and break days.



I managed to watch the exciting affair at Upton Park last weekend with Liverpool beating Zola's men 3-2. Finally, able to catch a match of my beloved Liverpool in their new away white strip, fought their hard-earned 3 points.



Fernando Torres' brilliance on the pitch gave us the valuable win. 2 great goals by the Spanish plus a Kuyt's toe-poke overcame West Ham coming back twice in the game. Defensive errors from both centre backs was frustrating to watch which I do think Rafa needs to sort it out. The reliable Carragher and Skrtel seemed to be out of sorts handling English striker Cole.

Fortunately, the attackers did not disappoint and it's nice to see Ryan Babel coming on as impact substitute, sending a beautiful cross to Torres which was the winner of the game.

With already 2 losses in the league while the rest are writing us off, we have to stay focus and keep it going. Taking one game at a time, 3 points is what it matters end of the day. Come on Liverpool!

A Steven Gerrard double and Supersub Ryan Babel came on to add another. A starting line up which saw Fernando and Stevie back again and their partnership just proved to be so important for Liverpool's future seasons just in 2 minutes. A through ball by Fernando was met nicely by Stevie G perfectly who didn't make any mistakes with his finish.



Steven Gerrard added the second after Torres was brought down in the penalty area. Up step Captain Stevie, but his shot was well saved by Robert Green. Fortunately for the Reds, the rebounded was finished off by the penalty taker.

With 2 goals up, Liverpool was cruising and controlling the game. Playing on the counter- attack, the home side were trying to attack the hard rock defence just in front of Pepe Reina.

Ryan Babel who was rumoured to be leaving the summer, came on in and scored the 3rd to finish off any hopes of comeback. A clean sheet, 3 goals, 3 points in the bag. With Manchester United 6 points above us, it's almost mission impossible for us to have any chance with only 2 more games to go in the league.

Nevertheless, it has been a good season for the Reds and the future is very bright for all the Liverpool fans to see. Keep the faith guys. ;)

Quick Update of Last 2 Matches

Liverpool 0 West Ham 0

A disappointing result and we lost a great chance going 3 points clear on top of the table. Failure to score, take chances and hence, frustration builds in more while the West Ham defence gained confidence in defence. There was no penetration towards goal and it couldn't help but feeling the pain of losing the chance of able to pounce on the loss of Chelsea against Arsenal. Nevertheless, like our King Kenny has said, let's just enjoy being on top.

A Steven Gerrard header was good enough to settle for 3 points which led Liverpool to qualify for the last 16. Not the best and convincing performance but the result was the most important. 3 points in the bag, with one more game to go. The last game will then determine who will lead the group.

How can I possibly not write about this? Fernando Torres has singlehandedly hammered the visiting Hammers down. The game in hand which we desperately needed to win and get the 3 points, and yes, we got it.

It's a mid-week game which meant to be a 4am match live here in Singapore. Despite the fact of working the next day, I still pulled myself up out of my bed and caught the game. Fortunately, the Reds didn't disappoint me.



Torres' first goal was the best of the three, in my opinion. Caught everyone by surprise even myself. West Ham goalkeeper, Robert Green, stood on this feet, looking so helpless watching the ball into the net. From that moment he scored the first, I knew there would be more from this fellow.

Martin Skrtel, (above with Torres) was superb. I'm beginning to like this young lad as his performances has been consistent over the last few matches which he has played. A big strong defender with pace which is something I love to see in a defender. Keep it up, Martin. You'll do well.



As I expected, Torres' second came. His top corner header left Green glued at his position again. Clearly shown his coolness in front of goal. He just couldn't stop scoring isn't it? Many of the girls are all going crazy over him, but I guess the guys can't resist as well. :)



The match ball belonged to him when he just made Neil like a fool in the box. Awesome control which "ole" Neil and off he went, finishing off his third of the night. It's been sometimes since we have seen such a scorer like this. Michael Owen was the last. Well, he has already achieved so much in his first season over here. He will be good, good to be up there with the likes of Rushs, Daglishs and Keegans. I'm sure he would.



Captain Stevie just couldn't stand Torres being the limelight for too long, he also would like to join the show. He added the fourth with his trademark 25-yard thunderbolt. His shot pulled me of my seat. Just couldn't stop admiring Stevie's abilities on the pitch. His celebrations just told who's Boss around.

Fans just told the Americans bosses what to do!

We have to keep it going, keep taking the 3 points. Like Rafa said, it's in our hands now. We have to make sure we cement the 4th place and probably closing the gap to the 3rd.
